SESSION NOTES: SEPTEMBER 2014
September was another busy month here at 11th Street Studios, as producer Blac Elvis continued his occupation of Studio B, booking 21 days to work with his stable of Mars On Sunday artists, including Pippy Thomas and Charmaine. Songwriter Felisha King attended a few of the sessions to pen a few hits, as Keon engineered the sessions.
Crown King Productions stayed busy in the studio this month, as their GOOD Music/ Def Jam artist Prynce CyHi booked Studio C for 15 days to get some work in on a new mixtape. CKP’s Mike Davis booked 2 listening sessions in Studio C, while CKP’s Nico Solis booked a day in Studio A to work with German-born Turkish model and international pop artist EbRu MusiQ, with EJ Washington engineering. CKP’s Keino also booked 2 sessions in Studio B to work with a new group he is developing, EJ again engineered.
Mix engineer Edward “UK” Nixon spent 3 days in Studio A mixing a new song for Scottish EDM DJ and producer Hudson Mohawke.
Studio owner Steve Fisher spend x days in Studio A tracking, co-producing, and mixing a 7-song EP for Pride of Africa Records‘ 13-year old Nigerian afropop artist Soaleze. The album, The 5th Horseman, will be released in December for the Nigerian and Pan-African markets.
A-1 Records artist Rocko booked a day in Studio A, and Young Money/ Cash Money/ Universal singer Shanell came in for a short session in Studio A. Owner Steve Fisher engineered both sessions.
Polo Grounds/ Capitol Records artist Diamond booked a session in Studio A with engineer Steve Fisher to record some new material for her upcoming mixtape.
Grand Hustle Records artist and Hustle Gang member Big Kuntry King booked Studio A for a day, with his engineer View. Freebandz artist Casino came into Studio C, with our engineer Kurt Lindsay.
Sko booked a day in Studio C for various up and coming artists to host meetings and listening sessions with RocNation‘s Senior Vice President Lenny S., who flew in from New York to attend. Sko also booked Studio A for another short listening session.
Independent artists putting in work this month include Big D, who booked Studio B, Lo Key, who had a session in Studio A, Q Heffner, who booked Studio C, and Gwen Bunn, who also booked Studio C. EJ Washington engineered all 4 sessions.
