SESSION NOTES: FEBRUARY 2015

February was another busy month here at 11th Street Studios, as producer Blac Elvis continued his occupation of Studio B, booking 20 days to work with his stable of Mars On Sunday artists, including Pippy Thomas, Charmaine, Princess (from Crime Mob).   Various guests stopped by to have meetings, including A&R Kevin Shine, Universal A&R Ray Daniels, and Chubby Baby, among others.

NNTME MuCo. songwriter Felisha King spent 5 days in Studio C with engineer Quick writing new songs for her catalog.

Trinidadian engineer and mixer Giandre “Dre The Phoenix” Diaz spent 15 days in our brand new Studio E working with artist/ songwriter Alanna on her new project.

Crown Kingz Productions booked a marathon of sessions, with 3 days in Studio C plus 1 day in Studio A for their G.O.O.D. Music/ Def Jam recording artist CyHi the Prynce to finish recording and mixing his latest mixtape, BHP 2: NAACP, which was dropped on DatPiff straight from the studio.  Engineer Howard White handled mixing duties.  Production on the mixtape was provided by Mannie Fresh, Organized Noize, Jethroe, Treyshotya, Jayo, Tec Beatz, Esteyban, Brandon Black, Jeff Leahr, Fr23sh Preauxdeuce, The Freshman, and Narcotics, with a guest feature from Alanna.

Bahamian beauty and Rowdy Records/ Interscope artist Alex 242 booked 2 days in Studio A to work with producer Drumma Boy, with Pat engineering.

Rich Gang artists Bankroll Mafia booked 3 days in Studio C, and our engineer Ken Padgett recording.

Sko booked 2 days in Studio C for various up and coming artists to host meetings and listening sessions with RocNation‘s Senior Vice President Lenny S., who flew in from New York to attend.

Baltimore rapper and Freebandz artist Test booked 2 days in Studio C with EJ Washington engineering.  Fellow Freebandz artist Steelo Steezy also booked a session in Studio C.

EJ Washington took care of a mix for producer CostaBeats in Studio C.  Rounding out the month were various other sessions in Studio C, including 3 days for TroyB, 3 days for LowKey, and 2 days for Ken, with EJ Washington and Quick splitting engineering duties. We also had our mastering engineer Dale “Rambro” Ramsey master 2 Quick mixed songs for AMH Music Group‘s r&b artist Netta.

SESSION NOTES: JANUARY 2015

Felisha King

2015 began with a bang at 11th Street Studios, with business taking off immediately and continuing strong throughout the month.  Producer Blac Elvis‘s grind continues in Studio B, booking 20 days to work with his stable of Mars On Sunday artists, including Pippy Thomas, Charmaine, and Princess (from Crime Mob).  Rowdy Records/ Interscope artist Alex 242 booked 7 days in Studio A to work with producer Drumma Boy, with Pat engineering.  Guests stopping by to check in included Lloyd and 8 Ball.

NNTME MuCo. songwriter Felisha King booked 5 days in Studio C and another day in Studio B to write songs for her catalog. Quick engineered the sessions.  EDM’s Bass ambassadors and Ultra Records artists Heroes X Villians took a break from their busy tour schedule and booked a day in Studio A to get some production work in.

Earl Jam r&b group Final Draft booked Studio B to record their new single, and then spent a couple days in Studio A to have the song mixed.  Studio owner Steve Fisher engineered and mixed the single “#DWN”, produced by group member Lucky, which was released a week later.

Bases Loaded/ eOne artist Ca$h Out booked 2 sessions in Studio C, while Freebandz artist Casino booked a day in Studio C, with engineer EJ Washington handling both.  Polo Grounds/ Capitol artist Diamond came in for a quick session with engineer Steve Fisher to knock out a few features, and Crown Kingz Productions booked a day in Studio C for their G.O.O.D. Music/ Def Jam recording artist CyHi the Prynce to continue working on his forthcoming mixtape.  CKP also booked a day in Studio A to work with their artist T.R.E., with Nico Solis engineering and producing.

Yo Gotti‘s Cocaine Muzik Group booked both Studio A and Studio C, and then a second day in Studio C for their artists Zed Zilla, Snootie Wild, and Kia Shine to work on various upcoming projects.  EJ Washington and Quick shared engineering duties on the sessions.

Baltimore rapper and Freebandz affiliate YGG Tay booked a day in Studio C to finish up some recording with engineer EJ Washington, then EJ spent a week in Studio C mixing 16 songs. A final day was spent for DJ Flow to host the mixtape, entitled “Rich Before Rap”, which was then mastered by Steve Fisher and dropped on DatPiff the following day.  Producers on the project include Metro Boomin, TM88, London On The Track, DJ X-Rated, Elijah808, Backpack, Eardrumma Aubz, and Lace & Kidd.

Italian artist Rafaelle D’Amerosio booked a day in Studio C with engineer Dan Cahill, while TroyB had a session in Studio C with Quick engineering.  Curtis Grooms, Just Fire, and Keith Dozier each did a session in Studio C, with EJ Washington engineering all 3.

11th Street Studios managed to stay busy during the holidays, as producer Blac Elvis spent 12 days in Studio B this month working on various songs with his stable of Mars On Sunday artists, including Pippy Thomas, Charmaine, Princess (from Crime Mob).

Cash Money/ Universal Records booked 4 sessions in Studio A this month for their newly signed r&b singer Jaquees, with EJ Washington providing engineering services.

Mix engineer Edward “UK” Nixon spent 3 days in Studio A mixing a song for Warp Records EDM DJ/producer Hudson Mohawke.  The song, “Chimes” Remix, features Pusha T, Future, Travi$ Scott, and French Montana, and was released a few days later.

NNTME MuCo. songwriter Felisha King booked 3 sessions in Studio C to record some fresh new songs for her catalog, with Quick engineering.

Love & Hip Hop Atlanta star and Chinga Chang/ Sony Records artist Lil’ Scrappy booked a day in Studio A to work on some new material with producer Drumma Boy for his upcoming mixtape. Pat engineered.

Polo Grounds/ Capitol Records artist Diamond booked a session in Studio C with engineer Steve Fisher to record some new material for her upcoming mixtape.

Brick Squad Monopoly/ Atlantic Records artist Waka Flocka Flame booked a day in Studio A to work with his producers 808 Mafia. Southside and TM88 worked on the music while Queso handled engineering duties.

Independent singer/ songwriter Michelle Jovan booked a session in Studio C to record a few songs with engineer Kurt Lindsay.

SESSION NOTES: NOVEMBER 2014

Diamond

Mix engineer Edward “UK” Nixon spent 21 days in Studio A to finish mixing a 13-song album for rapper/ actor Astro (The Astronomical Kid).  A former Epic Records artist and “X-Factor” season 1 finalist, the 18-year old Astro is currently in Atlanta filming a major motion picture.  The critically acclaimed album, entitled “Computer Era” was released independently on Grade A Tribe Records this month.

Producer Blac Elvis continued his work in Studio B, spending 14 days working on various songs with his stable of Mars On Sunday artists, including Pippy Thomas and Charmaine, with Keon engineering.

Polo Grounds/ Capitol Records artist Diamond booked 5 sessions in Studio C this month with engineer Steve Fisher to record some new material for her upcoming mixtape.  NNTME MuCo. songwriter Felisha King also spent 4 days in Studio C with engineer Quick and producer B.Harv writing new songs for her catalog.

Independent artist QHeff booked a session with engineer EJ Washington in Studio C, as did indy artist PartierGwalla Man Dash booked 3 sessions in Studio C, also with EJ handling engineering duties.  All Nite Mike booked a session in Studio A with their engineer Ray.

Southside/808 Mafia

Another busy month here at 11th Street Studios, as producer Blac Elvis‘s grind continues in Studio B, booking 17 days to work with his stable of Mars On Sunday artists, including Pippy Thomas and Charmaine. Felicia King also came in a few days to write as well.

Polo Grounds/ Capitol Records artist Diamond stayed busy in the studio this month, booking 3 sessions in Studio A  and 2 more in Studio C. The former Crime Mob member, and current star of Oxygen‘s Sisterhood of Hip Hop worked with engineer Steve Fisher to record some new material for her upcoming mixtape.  Fisher recorded and mixed the TM88 produced single “Trap Girl Rollie”, which was released a few days later.  Bases Loaded/ eOne artist Ca$h Out came thru one of the sessions to drop a feature.

NNTME MuCo. songwriter Felisha King booked 4 days in Studio C plus 2 more days in Studio B with producer B Harv creating the music, and Quick handling the engineering duties. Meanwhile her sister and fellow NNTME songwriter Fallon King also booked 2 days in Studio B to work with producer Chris Carter, with engineer Dan Cahill at the console.  NNTME A&R Mathias Sorum attended the sessions.

Love & Hip Hop Atlanta star and Chinga Chang/ Sony Records artist Lil’ Scrappy booked a day in Studio A to work on some new material with producer Drumma Boy for his upcoming mixtape, with Pat engineering.  Fellow rap artists Problem and Travis Porter attended the session to collaborate.

Need More Entertainment and South Carolina rap artist Country C came into Studio A to get Young Money/ Cash Money/ Universal Records singer Shanell to drop a feature, with Steve Fisher engineering.  A1 Records boss Rocko also booked Studio A to get some work done, with Kirk Lindsay engineering the session.

Freebandz artist and Baltimore rapper Test booked a session in Studio C to work with engineer EJ Washington.  Fellow Freebandz affilliate and Baltimore native YGG Tay booked 3 days in Studio C, with EJ again engineering.

A host of independent artists rounded out the month.  Pop artist Richie Nuzz booked a session in Studio C with engineer Dan Cahill, while Epic Pro also booked a session in Studio CQ Heff booked a day in Studio C, while rapper Big D also booked a day in Studio C, our engineer EJ Washington ran both sessions.  All Nite Mike booked 2 sessions in Studio A with their engineer Ray.

SESSION NOTES: SEPTEMBER 2014

Shanell

September was another busy month here at 11th Street Studios, as producer Blac Elvis continued his occupation of Studio B, booking 21 days to work with his stable of Mars On Sunday artists, including Pippy Thomas and Charmaine. Songwriter Felisha King attended a few of the sessions to pen a few hits, as Keon engineered the sessions.

Crown King Productions stayed busy in the studio this month, as their GOOD Music/ Def Jam artist Prynce CyHi booked Studio C for 15 days to get some work in on a new mixtape. CKP’s Mike Davis booked 2 listening sessions in Studio C, while CKP’s Nico Solis booked a day in Studio A to work with German-born Turkish model and international pop artist EbRu MusiQ, with EJ Washington engineering.  CKP’s Keino also booked 2 sessions in Studio B to work with a new group he is developing,  EJ again engineered.

Mix engineer Edward “UK” Nixon spent 3 days in Studio A mixing a new song for Scottish EDM DJ and producer Hudson Mohawke.

Studio owner Steve Fisher spend x days in Studio A tracking, co-producing, and mixing a 7-song EP for Pride of Africa Records‘ 13-year old Nigerian afropop artist Soaleze.  The album, The 5th Horseman, will be released in December for the Nigerian and Pan-African markets.

A-1 Records artist Rocko booked a day in Studio A, and Young Money/ Cash Money/ Universal singer Shanell came in for a short session in Studio A.  Owner Steve Fisher engineered both sessions.

Polo Grounds/ Capitol Records artist Diamond booked a session in Studio A with engineer Steve Fisher to record some new material for her upcoming mixtape.

Grand Hustle Records artist and Hustle Gang member Big Kuntry King booked Studio A for a day, with his engineer ViewFreebandz artist Casino came into Studio C, with our engineer Kurt Lindsay.

Sko booked a day in Studio C for various up and coming artists to host meetings and listening sessions with RocNation‘s Senior Vice President Lenny S., who flew in from New York to attend.  Sko also booked Studio A for another short listening session.

Independent artists putting in work this month include Big D, who booked Studio B, Lo Key, who had a session in Studio A, Q Heffner, who booked Studio C, and Gwen Bunn, who also booked Studio CEJ Washington engineered all 4 sessions.

SESSION NOTES: JANUARY 2014

Recording-Studios-in-Atlanta-Best-11th-Street-Studios-Rocko-Rapper-MusicWe kicked off the new year strong here at 11th Street Studios, staying booked on all but 4 days of the month. We took a well earned break on the 1st, and lost a few days due to the snowstorm.

NNTME MuCo. booked a total of 17 days in Studio C, using the time for various projects for Def Jam artist August Alsina, Gloria Prince, and Rocky Diamonds. Dan Cahill engineered most of the sessions, with engineer Devin, with producers Keys, Cassius Jay, Knucklehead, and The Exclusives, and songwriter Fallon King.

A1 Records artist Rocko booked 11 days in Studio A and another 2 days in Studio B working on an upcoming mixtape. Producers Jon Boi, Nitti, and DJ Spinz came thru to provide beats, with Steve Fisher and Kori Anders providing engineering and mixing services.

BMG/Freebandz artist Young Scooter booked Studio B for a total of 5 days this month as he continues to record new material, with EJ Washington engineering.

Dantae Peeps came in Studio A for 4 days to work with engineer Steve Fisher on a few new songs for the upcoming release of the US version of his new album, “Perfect Getaway”. The original album was released in November in Japan by Tyro Productions.

Young Money artist Shanell worked 3 days in Studio A on a few new songs for herself, and for the new upcoming Young Money compilation album to be released later this spring. Steve Fisher engineered.

Epic Records artist Future came in for a day in Studio A, and another day in Studio B, to work on the finishing touches on his sophomore album. Dungeon Family’s Big Rube came in to drop another intro, with Seth Firkins and Steve Fisher engineering.

Def Jam booked 2 days in Studio A for August Alsina, as he worked on new material with The Exclusives producing and writing.

DTE‘s Trouble worked with producer Drumma Boy for 2 days in Studio A, with Pat engineering.

Mehcad Brooks booked 2 days in Studio A.

Big Kuntry King booked a session in Studio A, with engineer View. Yung Mazi booked a day in Studio B with engineer EJ Washington. 550 and Boone booked 2 days in Studio B and another in Studio C, again with engineer EJ Wasington.

We rounded out the month with sessions from Mannish, BZ, Kaleem, Rico, CoCaptians, Dion, Freebandz artist Casino, Marvelous J, and JT.

SESSION NOTES: DECEMBER 2013

Young ScooterWe had a busy holiday seasion here at 11th Street Studios, with bookings on all but 4 days this month, as we closed to observe Christmas.

Black Migo Gang‘s Young Scooter didn’t let up for the holidays, booking Studio B for a total of 15 days with engineer EJ Washington as he finalized his latest mixtape project.

NNTME MuCo. Continued their run, booking 12 days in Studios C and another 2 in Studio A with engineer Dan Cahill. Def Jam r&b artist August Alsina, along with rapper Rocky Diamonds and singer Gloria Prince put in work, with producers Cassius Jay, Knuckehead, and The Exclusives; with songwriter Fallon King contributing.

Paper Trail Ent. Artist 550 booked 5 sessions this month, with EJ Washington and Gary Jones engineering.

A1 Records head honcho Rocko spent 4 days in Studio A with engineer Steve Fisher, getting ready to drop some new material for the new year.

Fallon King did 3 days of her own in Studio C, working with producers D.Clax and Matty P. and bringing in legendary songwriter Manuel Seal to co-write on some new material.

Young Money artist Shanell booked 2 days in Studio A with engineer Steve Fisher.

Actor Mehcad Brooks, known for his roles on the TV shows Necessicary Roughness, True Blood, and Desperate Housewives, booked 2 days in Studio A as he works on his debut R&B album.

Producer Drumma Boy booked a day with MP3Waxx.com as they prep for their All Star Music Experience event in New Orleans, and booked a 2nd session to shoot a video for the website Hooplaha.com, talking with and inspiring teens toward success.  Both sessions took place in Studio A.

Chicago rapper King Samson stopped in Studio B for 2 days to work on some new music and meet with a few Atlanta producers, with Gary Jones engineering.

Def Jam booked a day in Studio A for August Alsina.

Universal A&R Kenny Kold came in Studio B for a listening session.  We rounded out the month with sessions from CKP, T.R.E., Yung Mazi, Kuntry KingQuikTrip, Kaleem, MoneyMan, Rico, and Freebandz artist Test Me.

SESSION NOTES: NOVEMBER 2013

August AlsinaIt was another busy month at 11th Street Studios, as continuing renovations saw a lounge for Studio B take form, and the kitchenette are get some notable upgrades. There is still a good bit of work to get done, as all of the sessions taking place slowed construction, but we aren’t complaining, that’s what we’re here for!

NNTME MuCo. kept their foot on the gas also, booking 22 days in Studio C and 2 days in Studio A with engineer Dan Cahill, working on artists August Alsina, Rocky Diamonds, Lloyd, and Gloria, along with producers D.Clax, Cassius Jay, The Exclusives, and Knucklehead.

Young Scooter continued to stay on his grind this month, clocking a total of 16 days in Studio B throughout the month of November, with engineers EJ Washington and Gary Jones.

Songwriter Fallon King (of Cherish) and producer D.Clax spent 13 days in Studio C writing new material for placement.

Rocko put in 3 long days in Studio A, working right up until Thanksgiving morning with engineer Steve Fisher, getting songs ready for his upcoming POET mixtape.

Other noteworthy sessions include Dante Peeps, who booked Studio A for a day with engineer Steve Fisher to finish up a few songs for his new album project. Producer Pit and songwriter Jeff B. worked 4 days with new young singer Jennifer Carrillo in Studio C.   Rap artist 550 got 2 sessions in Studio B with engineer EJ Washington, while Big Kuntry King booked 3 days in Studio A with guest engineer View. Kaleem also got a day in Studio A and another in Studio C, both with engineer Dan Cahill manning the console. CKP booked a day for Young Mazi in Studio B, and another day in Studio A for Mazi and Atlanta R&B legends Jagged Edge to work on some new material.

SESSION NOTES: OCTOBER 2013

FutureThe opening of our brand new Studio B got off on the right foot with 2 powerhouse sessions back to back. Lex Luger kicked things off with a hard hitting production session, followed by Epic Records booking a Future session with Atlanta legends Organized Noize. Rico Wade, Ray Murray, and Sleep Brown all attended to reproduce a sampled track for a song that features none other than Andre 3000 himself on both the hook and a verse! This one’s sure to make the album; session engineered by Steve Fisher.

Rocko spent a day in Studio A working on a few new songs with Steve Fisher engineering.

Producer Drumma Boy stopped through Studio A 3 times this month: once with Three 6 Mafia’s DJ Paul, Lil’ Whyte, and Jelly Roll; once with a new Slip’N’Slide Records artist; and again for a filming session for a new TV show called Sisterhood of Hip Hop on Oxygen Network. The show’s stars Diamond, Siya, Bia, Brianna Perry, Nyemiah Supreme and guest Da Brat were in the building, along with the production crew from 51 Minds.

Young Money artist Shanell did 4 dates in Studio A with producer Putt, songwriter Draft, and engineer Steve Fisher working on a handful of new songs.

Warner Chappell booked a day for Chicago producer Young Chop to bang out a few new beats in Studio C.

Black Migo Gang / A1FBG rap artist Young Scooter was finally released from prison on the 23rd and came back focused, heading straight to the studio that night and getting in 8 straight days in Studio B before the month was over, all sessions engineered by E. J. Washington. A number of producers came in to work with him on some fresh material, including Zeytoven, Metro Boomin, and DJ Spinz; and a number of Freebandz and Black Migo artists also stopped by to provide features, including Casino. Expect a new mixtape to hit the streets soon.

NNTME MoCo. booked 12 days in Studio C this month for their new rap artist Rocky Diamonds to work on some fresh music with their producers Knucklehead, D.Clax, and Cassius Jay. Also using some of the time was their Def Jam artist August Alsina. Atlantic Records also booked a day in Studio A for their artist K.Michelle to get a feature from August on the remix of her “V.S.O.P” single, with Dan Cahill engineering all of the sessions.

Dante Peeps came into Studio A for a couple days to finish up work on his new album to be released in Japan by Germany’s Tyro Productions, with Steve Fisher engineering.

Rounding out the month, independent artist Kaleem spent a day in Studio C with engineer Dan Cahill, Young Mazi dropped in Studio C for a few hours, QuicTrip spent a few hours in Studio B, engineer Stikahbush spent a day in Studio A working on a mix, and songwriter Fallon King did a couple sessions in Studio C with producer D.Clax and engineer Dan Cahill.
